just to prove...

that I am not Danny V. I need a job. I want to work in a bookstore or babysit young kids, like realy, really young.. monday we got our cap n gowns. it made our day. we get back a week from monday n then we have 25 days left!!!!! I am going to Florida in august to visit with my sister n niece. my sister is 7 yrs older than me n my niece is 12 yrs. younger than me.
in my etics class, we r talking about relationships, but currently n more specifically the roles of men n women in a marriage. all of us girls r getting mad at this article we had to read on the topic n the guys think its funny about "wiives submitting to husbands" part. They just dont get it. My teacher talked about this verse but his interpretation irked me n like every girl in my class. I heard ppl talk about this thing b4 but the interpretation this time really bugged me.
Its...
1Tim 2:11-14
11A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. (NIV)
can u please help me get this verse bk from what my teacher taljed about, Im mad.

some grocery stores, like giant eagle, have babysitting places. they always looked fun to me, so maybe check em out.

i was just at a teaching on the role of a man/woman in marriage. ultimatly, the man is told to love as christ loved the church - meaning death. the man is to die to his wife EVERYDAY.
any guy getting a kick out of women "submitting" probably isn't a very mature guy. read proverbs 31 - she is niether silent nor weak. real biblical submission isn't either.

also, if you have a vehicle and want to make big bucks, check out Neubert Painting Co. - I'm not sure how far away from that place that you live (& don't say on the blog), but you can make some serious cash in one summer. Some kids paid half of a semester of tuition every year just by working the summer ($5,000-$10,000).

hi kat. if you want a great book to read, "what paul really said about women" is one i just finished. very very freeing. the anger you feel is probably justified. women have been under lots of oppression. but we all still have a lot to learn, men and women a like, so just be kind and share that really we are to "submit to eachother out of reverence for Christ". that verse is right above the women's submitting verse. love ya, you're doing great, girl. o and i never got you a recipe. how about banana bread? here it is:

cream together 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup shortening. blend in 3 ripe bananas, diced, and two eggs. stir in 1 cup flour, 1 tsp baking soda and 1/2 tsp of vanilla. grease and flour 3 small loaf pans. fill loaf pans 1/2 way with batter. bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes. insert toothpick for doneness (comes out clean when done). love, bek
