a post finally
ok so i have been wanting to post for a while now. i get up at 3:30 am for work n go to bed at 8 unless i dont have to work the next day or i go to IHOP. Ok so i got an ipod for Christmas and have just recently been getting podcasts. well I got sum from the recent Onething and I was wondering...
First I will explain i was listening to one guy and he was talking on the topic of speaking on tongues and he was explaining how ppl get this gift and how he got it. he talked about how ppl usually think of it as the Spirit takes over ur body n it does it while u just stand there. I just realized that that is how i viewed it as well.
so i was wondering if any of u have that get n could say whatever happened when u got it.

I was in a meeting, and we were praying before the meeting. Prior to that, I had been asking the Spirit to move in me. I was a Christian for about two years before the gift came, and I had no desire to have some type of hyped up, emotional experience. But, as I was praying I had this odd phrase repeating in my mind... something like, "Ayechutu, Eychu..." So, I said it. Afterward, there seemed to be a gradual release of other phrases and thoughts that were linguistically similar in lexicon. In any case, I believe that it has many familiar characteristics of any other language, but I don't understand a syllable. Usually I speak in tongues when I am unsure of how exactly to pray.
